Convention Convention
Convention Convention is a three-day symposium inviting critical thought around music culture, work and presentation taking place June 19 - 21 2020 as part of EVERYSEEKER's annual festival in K'jipuktuk / Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Each day, we'll host a two-hour session, lead by rad local facilitation team BRAVE SPACE. The structure of each session will be anchored around a set of central ideas while remaining pliable and experimental. The intention is to leave the floor open to all ideas and voices, while working towards generative dialogue and constructive solutions.
We hope that, by being together and sharing our collective knowledge / struggles / passions / goals, positive momentum and change will emerge. We hope this project offers an opportunity to build networks and strengthen relationships. Working in music culture can be isolating; let's get together and talk it out!
We encourage anyone working in or passionate about live music to join in the conversation. To help us prepare, we're asking people to register in advance. That being said, no one will be turned away if they don't. All welcome!
For those individuals intending to travel from out of province, we've included a second section where you can apply for travel stipends ($200) + festival passes. Travel stipends are funding dependent. Results will arrive in July (after the festival). Passes will be awarded no later than May 1, 2020. The deadline to apply for stipends + passes is April 21, 2020.
