Social Media Engagement Coordinator

Application Deadline May 7th 2021

 

EVERYSEEKER is looking for a Social Media Engagement Coordinator to support and bolster our online presence leading up to and during our festival (June 17th-20th). 

 

This contract will run from May 15th, 2021 until June 30th 2021. 

 

We are looking for a candidate that has some experience or background in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or Social Media Engagement for platforms including, but not limited to; Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Linktree, Squarespace, Mailchimp, and Patreon. The ideal candidate would be able to be on-site in Kjipuktuk/ halifax during the festival, has a strong understanding of our local music and arts community and our partnerships, and is a lover and supporter of EVERYSEEKER festival. The selected candidate must prioritize digital accessibility and work from an anti-oppressive framework. 

PAYMENT

$1000 honorarium
25% will be paid upon signing the contract, 25% will be paid the first week of June, with the final 50% paid the first week of July via e-transfer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for engagement with our digital audiences and posting to/moderating all of our social media accounts with an emphasis on Instagram. The co-directors will work alongside the Social Media Engagement Coordinator to develop a social media strategy and schedule, and will provide the selected candidate with the creation of the content such as graphics, captions, and image descriptions. 

EXPECTATIONS/DELIVERABLES

While there will be a schedule for posting, daily social media engagement and moderation will be self-directed. The total hours for this contract position will be approximately 60 hours. 

  • Social Media Strategy (10-15 hours total):

    • Working alongside Co-Directors to create a social media strategy plan

      • Engagement: everyday engagement, brand voice and tones, possible “holiday” recognition, announcements, acknowledgements 

      • Determine festival-specific goals for on-site engagement

      • Sponsorship/ partnership package, recognition, and deliverables

      • Decision/ Action tree for emergency comments/ posts/ DMs/ etc.

      • Engagement tracking

      • Final evaluation report on; strategy plan outcomes, reach/ views, following increase, and opportunities/ weakness for future postings

  • Everyday engagement strategy + actions  (2.5 hours per week - 15 hours total)

    • Posting and sharing stories, liking posts, engaging with comments

  • Scheduling + managing posts (2-3 hours per week - 14-20 hours total)

    • 2-4 posts per week

    • Examples of posts include: Festival promotion, artist promotion, venue information, sponsorship promotion, membership information, letters from/to directors and the board, community responses and acknowledgements, accessibility information, covid-19 safety protocols, etc. 

  • Direct Festival Engagement (10-20 hours total)

    • Promoting live streams and video releases

    • Stories of the live, in-person outdoor events, behind-the-scenes (health guidelines permitting)

    • COVID-19 Safety protocols and precautions

    • Accessibility Information

    • Upholding sponsorship agreements/ deliverables
