INTRODUCING THE ARTISTS:
junk entity I was born in Northern Ontario and spent a large portion of my younger life in the foster care system. I eventually ended up in Nova Scotia and have been living here for a decade. My practice is mostly based in electronics and electronic music ranging from dance music, to industrial, to drone. I like to hint at natural phenomena, the magic of sound and the morphing of energy, extremes like quiet and tense to loud and consuming. I approach sound making using listening practice learned from Nick Dourado's sound club, the materiality of sound, hermetic research and listening holes, and the many conversations had with friends related and unrelated to music.
standpartners A mix of chambercore, dream jazz, semi-traditional, and post-contemporary, standpartners weave stringy currents of melodies that tear at the seams. Drawing from their Filipino and Iranian roots, Charity Cruz (violin/vocals/electronics) and Isaiah Farahbakhsh (cello/vocals/electronics) navigate the contrast of self-expression and cultural assimilation through a quasi-composed landscape of sound, noise, and space.

Hoax is a Mixed, Haudenosaunee, Onyota'a:ka (Oneida), Two-Spirit artist from London Ontario, and Oneida Nation of the Thames. Residing in K'jipuktuk (Halifax). Hoax’s practice involves sculpture, performance, installation and illustration that explores the ever oscillating tensions and weight of yearning, aloneness, eroticism, and desire (romantic, platonic, the self) using themes of hard and soft, sensuality and clinical, the body and the incorporeal, the threats of violence or invitations of care, desirability or discomfort, while using materials and iconography from a visual language developed through exploration of these themes.
