CALL FOR SOUNDTECH SHADOWING PROGRAM

This winter, we’re running a Soundtech Shadowing program. Have you ever wanted to learn more about how sound works at a performance? Do you have dreams of working someday as a sound tech? This could be a great opportunity for you! Like so much in the world of music, it can be hard to know where exactly to begin. We’re offering the opportunity to be paired up with one of our sound techs during preparation and showtime to get a sense of how things work behind the scenes.

We’re running shows on the following dates in Downtown / North End Halifax:

If you have availability on any/all of these dates, we’d love to hear from you! Set up, showtime and teardown runs from roughly 3pm~2am, depending on the show. Ideally, successful applicants will be available on the day of + another evening in lead up to meet for a casual Q+A session with our tech, where you’ll have a chance to go over show details and ask questions more broadly about process, access, resources and experience.

If all this sounds interesting, send us an e-mail to programming@everyseeker.com and include the following:

  • name / preferred pronoun

  • why you’re interested in this opportunity

  • any past experience (not necessary, but helpful to know!)

Applicants are welcomed to self-identify in any way that is important to their identity--a non exhaustive list follows: BIPOC / racialized / person of colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, disabled, a member of a faith based community, etc… EVERYSEEKER will prioritize applications received from marginalized communities. If transportation is a concern, just let us know and we’ll do our best to support you in getting to and from shows/meetings.

Applications will be accepted until midnight on Friday February 7th. Though please note that one opportunity precedes this date (on Jan 25th) and we’ll be filling spots for that date as applications come in.

Hope to hear from you soon!
