Anthroposcenery Field Recordings Volume 1: March - May, 2020, K'jipuktuk / Halifax

For their contribution to Emergent Response, Anthroposcenery (aka Spanish/Irish musician, recording engineer and film photographer Dario Lozano-Thornton) offers up a two-part project stemming from their extensive work with field recordings: a collection of analog and digital captured sounds and a book of film photographs.

Both pieces bear the title ‘Anthroposcenery Field Recordings Volume 1: March - May, 2020, K'jipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia’, and each offers a unique window into the world of the artist. Which is to say, each offers a richer understanding of the people and places that surround them. Dario's practice strives to amplify others’ and help in sharing their voice; and to not destroy any of the essence in the process and to celebrate the mediums used.

Both the book and recordings are available for purchase on Bandcamp, and a selection of images are on view below, some of which are featured in the book. All proceeds from book purchases will be split evenly between The Nova Scotia Black Lives Matter Solidarity Fund and The Black Opportunities & Leadership Development Fund.
